Unite General Secretary election

An election for General Secretary of Unite is being held in accordance with instructions issued by the Executive Council under Rule 15, Clause 3, and must be strictly adhered to. Accordingly, each branch or workplace is entitled to nominate a candidate for this office.
Prospective candidates must fulfil the eligibility requirements of Rule 16, Clause 12 i.e. have at least 5 years continuous membership of the union; and have received at least 50 nominations subject to the total including nominations from more than one Region.
Under the ballot rules our workplace is required to hold a meeting during the nomination period (1st January to 15th February 2013) in order to determine our nomination for the position of General Secretary.
The workplace meeting for Fujitsu BRA01 will take place on Tuesday 5th February 2013 at 6pm in the Thames Valley Club (TVC) bar, Fujitsu BRA01, Lovelace Road, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 8SN.
The workplace meeting for Fujitsu BSN01 will take place on Wednesday 6th February 2013 at 17:40 in the restaurant at Fujitsu BSN01, Jays Close, Viables Industrial Estate, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG22 4BY.
The workplace meeting for Fujitsu CRE02 will take place on Monday 4th February 2013 at 12:30 in conference room CR-01 at Fujitsu CRE02, Infinity House, Mallard Way, Off Electra Way, Crewe Business Park, Crewe, Cheshire, CW1 6ZQ.
The workplace meeting for Fujitsu IRE11 will take place on Thursday 7th February 2013 at 12:00 in Conference Room 1 at Fujitsu IRE11, Trident House, 301 Airport Road West, Belfast, BT3 9AE.
The workplace meeting for Fujitsu Warrington (WAR07, WAR08, WAR12 and WAR13) will take place on Friday 8th February 2013, at 12:00 in room 106, first floor, Fujitsu WAR08, Temple Court, Risley, Warrington, WA3 6GD.

Sign the petition – defend the union

Unite members across Fujitsu Services Limited in the UK are fighting over job security, for union recognition, against victimisation of reps, and over pay and pensions. Members nationally took industrial from 28 February including 15 days of strikes and ongoing action short of strike, after 12 days of local strikes in Manchester.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED but members have voted by 92% to reject a company offer.
